Pitching Tips

To get the most effective contact and distance control, there are 3 factors to take into account when pitching.

  1. Make sure that when you’re in your setup position your weight distribution is correct. Place about 60% of your body weight on your left side (target side) This will ensure that you promote the most effective path and contact for your shot
  2. Choose you ball position and the height of your pitch. Placing the ball in the back half of the stance will result in a lower ball flight where a ball position towards the centre will result in a higher flight (practice these different shots to see the reaction when the ball lands, this will give you the best idea of when to use the different trajectories)
  3. Maintain posture and balance throughout the shot. A good posture with minimal weight transfer thoughout this shot will result in a consistent repeatable ball strike.
