ANCORA SPORTS 2010: More Tournaments and New Talents

Local and International Tournaments

After successfully organizing both local and world-class tournaments in 2009, Ancora Sports has bigger plans in 2010. To recap, in 2009 we had eight Nationwide Ancora Junior Circuit Tournaments with Perusahaan Gas Negara as the main sponsor, four Ancora Pro-Series, and one international tournament, Indonesia President Invitational. (Tournament info detail is listed in the appendix).

Dion Soetadi, CEO of Ancora Sports, said that Ancora Sports will continue the esteemed Indonesia President Invitation tournament on October 7-10 2010, and will increase the number of local tournaments: six Pro Series and 12 Junior Circuit (12 Juniors consist of 10 one-day tournament and two international four-day tournament).

Prize money of each Pro-series Event is Rp. 150 million, and can only increase as Ancora Sports signs more sponsors. Prize money for Indonesia President Invitational 2010, is USD 400.000.

Ancora’s Athlete Recruitment

Ancora Sports will continue to design a more structured recruitment and development program, managed by a group of experienced professional including golf, mental, nutritionist, and physical coaches, to groom talented golf players. In 2010, we will recruit three to five junior athletes, two to five amateurs, and two to four professional players. The selection criteria consist of technical skill (golfing skill) and non-technical skills (mental, personality, and English capability).

Partnership with Sponsors

Cooperation with potential sponsors will also be enhanced. In 2009, Ancora Sports had successfully partnered with several new sponsors: Middle East Coal, Medco Energy, Perusahaan Gas Negara, XL, Panasonic, Toyota, and other sponsors where they supported Ancora Sports tournaments and Ancora Golf Institute.
