Sarmilih KZ’s, New Collective Title
Failed to show a maximum performance in two earliest PGPI tour season this year does not indicate this Kariza’s managed golfer, Sarmilih KZ’s graphic performance is going down. Apparently this chubby golfer has successfully taken the second seat Order of Merit PGPI Tour 2010 after winning the third series of PGPI Tour., Ancora Pro Series !, at Padang Golf Matoa Nasional, closing his final round with -7 (209) last February 25.
Sarmilih’s triumph in collecting this new title could not be regarded as an absolute winning as Denny A Wijaya, his hometown compatriot was only one shot behind him.
After all, his fight to step on to the top of leader board in the last round was considered the utmost effort he has ever done. It’s an unbelievable moment. Starting the second nine, he was left far behind his two rivals, Denny A Wijaya and Maan Nasim with six and five stroke behind.
Then he had birdie on the 9,10,13,14,17,18 to pay off hiss loss and finally Denny Wijaya who got a bigger chance to force for a play off could not beat Sarmilih, he was wedged with a bogey on hole 17.
The birdie putt that was fired by Sarmilih from the range of 6 meter directly reached the hole on the last hole. It swept away Denny’s chance to push up his position though he finished with a birdie.
Sarmilih was cheered up by his spectators tough at that time, his position on t he leader board was not fully save. There were players in the three last flight who had reach the last hole and probably got a good chance to score Sarmilih’s point or even got over it.
Unfortunately, the tough players who controlled leader board on the second day as Kahmid MH, Ade Sebul, Asep Suganda, Asep Caprie and Rory Gie, could not hold their strength to remove Sarmilih from the leader board. Sarmilih’s status as the club house leader changed into the Champion by the time, a best player in the leader flight, Khamid MH, closed his final round with score -5.
“I do realize that my putting in this tournament is not solid, only my chippings is good. But my putting on the last hole was the best putting I have ever made. Besides I don’t really like its range, that putting held a special burden as my fate determining. Thank God, I made a good finale,” said the Champion.
“I dedicate this winning to my sponsor, Ms. Ria PRawiro as her birthday present as well it is for my family who have fully supported my career.”
Taking home a trophy and the prize money of IDR 24million, Sarmilih has also scored some records as being the only PGPI tour card holder who has never lacked of holding a title since 2006. He is also recorded as the first Indonesian professional golfer who closed the Ancora Sports series in 2009 and opened it in 2010 as a Winner
And Sarmilih is still holding the record as the most winning champion of PGPI Tour with total 7 titles since 2002, at the time he turned to be a pro. (The Flag Edisi 7 No.3/2010)
